At Build Base Associates Uganda Limited, we believe in creating sustainable solutions that positively impact communities. Our recent project involved installing solar lighting systems in the Bidibidi and Imvepi refugee settlements, a project that has significantly transformed the lives of thousands of residents.
Project Overview
In collaboration with Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, we embarked on a mission to provide reliable and renewable lighting solutions for the refugee settlements. The budget for this project was UGX 2,709,000,000, and it was completed successfully, providing much-needed lighting to these communities.
Impact on the Community
The new solar lighting systems have drastically improved safety and quality of life within the settlements. Residents can now move around safely at night, and children can study after dark, enhancing their educational opportunities. This project has brought a sense of security and hope to many who had been living in darkness.
Sustainable Solutions
By using solar power, we not only provided a reliable source of light but also promoted environmental sustainability. Solar energy is a clean and renewable resource, reducing the settlements’ reliance on non-renewable energy sources and decreasing their carbon footprint.
